Jay's practice focuses on Business Law, Real Estate (including real estate development), Estate Planning & Administration. In all areas of his practice Jay provides quality, practical advice to his clients in a timely and useful manner. Jay regularly advises and represents clients involved in all manner of Commercial transactions, including business acquisitions, financing, succession planning and corporate reorganizations. He also represents clients involved in Real Estate Development at all stages of the development process, including strata subdivisions and the preparation of disclosure statements for development projects. In his Estate Planning & Administration practice, Jay works with clients to create their estate plan, and has considerable experience in implementing these plans, including the drafting and preparation of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements and Living Wills. He also represents and assists clients acting as executors and administrators of Estates on a regular and ongoing basis. In Real Estate transactions such as purchases, sales and mortgages, Jay works with buyers, sellers, bankers and realtors to complete these transactions quickly and efficiently. Jay is a past President of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and the North Okanagan United Way. He has also served on the Board and volunteered for several other organizations including the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre Society, the Allan Brooks Nature Centre Society, Scouts Canada, and the Rotary Club of Vernon Silver Star. Jay provides pro bono advice to a number of community and charitable organizations, and, in his spare time, enjoys time with his family, skiing, camping and hiking. Preferred Areas of Practice: |


Jay obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1989 and, after a three-year career as an information systems consultant, obtained his law degree from the University of Victoria in 1995. Jay was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1996 and practiced law in Vancouver with Owen Bird Law Corporation before joining Davidson Lawyers LLP in 1997, becoming a partner in 1999.
