James A. Dent

Jim was born in Oakville, Ontario and raised in Vancouver. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1975 and his law degree from the University of Victoria in 1978. He was called to the Bar in 1979. Upon completion of his law degree, Jim worked at what is now Boughton Law Corporation, eventually becoming a partner in charge of a large Real Estate practice.

Following his time at Boughton, Jim was a staff lawyer in the Professional Conduct Department of the Law Society. He joined Davidson Lawyers LLPĀ in 2006. Jim has acted for clients acquiring commercial and residential properties and has assisted clients in developing commercial properties, including stratification of mixed-use development comprised of residential and commercial strata lots. He also assisted clients with the preparation of both residential and commercial mortgages. Jim primarily practices law in the areas of Real Estate, Conveyancing, Mortgage Financing and Estate Planning & Administration.

Jim enjoys being involved in the community and has done volunteer work for the Vernon & District Chamber of Commerce and the Paddle Against Cancer.
