Estate Litigation is a term used to describe a wide variety of disputes concerning Wills, Estates, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and mental competency issues. Estate Litigation often involves disputing the distribution of assets, determining the validity of Wills and Trusts, or challenging the actions of the Trustee or Executor. As well, in British Columbia, a person is legally obligated to provide for their spouse and children in their will. Estate Litigation often involves challenges by disinherited children or spouses who feel that they have been denied a fair provision of the estate.
